Snowstorm 03:22
snowstorm is a simple word first used in 1771 it must have been a frightful storm the day it was spoken its a compound like skyscraper looming up so high baby its cold out wherever you're holed up i hope that you're all right baby its cold out wherever you're holed up i hope that you're all right   there's a blizzard raging outside. It used to mean to get hit over and over or even just once by gunshot or by fist i never been shot but i know how it feels to want someone around baby its cold out wherever you are i hope you're safe and sound   im a man who needs some definition  my meaning has become a little loose come on over sweetness  save me from obsoleteness baby all I need's a little use   washington the patriarch gave us the word ravine he took it from the french even though there were already dozens of words that meant the same thing he could have said gully or valley, he could have said fissure or flume he could have said screw it, it's only New Jersey, Martha I'm coming home I'm tired of freezing my rebel ass off, Martha I'm coming home.

Train 03:42
Are you riding on the train I'm on? Ooh, I declare Are you goin to the place I'm going? Ooh, I'll be there And if I told you that I loved you, Would you think me weird? Well, I do What a lot of ground we've covered here. New York, London, Amsterdam Buenos Aires, Tokyo So many bones in so much skin Feel my high hello Next Sunday is communion Ooh, I declare We got the Spirit and we're movin' in it Ooh, I'll be there And if I told you that I loved you Would you think me weird? Well, I do What a lot of ground we've covered here. In the olden, golden days People stopped to say hello In the olden, golden days People stopped to cut your throat Are you riding on the train I'm on? Ooh, I declare Every wing and every wheel that rolls Brings us close together, dear And I know you're gonna be with me wherever I go And I know you're gonna feel Feel my high hello

When i came down off the mountain I was breaking like a wave  rolling over everything in sight shining like a silver-plated nickel in the sun I was dispersed across the universe of light I came up to the ocean and i didn't hesitate I zoomed right over looking for a new way home all the birds and fishes flew and swam right up to me  and reminded me that I was all alone Scannin the horizon looking for a sign of you when I saw your sillouhette my heart stopped but then I got up close and found out it was just a ghost and i was sad that i had left the mountaintop Wondering where you'd gone i made my way around the sun i called your name out loud just like it was my own but you didnt show your face so i just gave up on the chase  and made my way down to the city far below who's going to love me today? who's going to call me their own? who's going take me as I am? who's going to take me home? yeah, whos going to take me home? I signed up for midnight madness at 11:45 I was too early to be anything but sane all the crazy kids caroused until the break of day they were dancin like their feet were made of flame I could not feel the beat so i just there in my seat with a longing that the earth could not contain i sat there in the corner counting particles of dust  with memories flooding me like rivers in the rain     who's going to love me today? who's going to call me their own? who's going take me as I am? who's going to take me home? yeah, whos going to take me home? I saw a spider spinning string into the wind he's tying things you never know the lengths he'll go to catch a fly I want to spin stuff to so that's just what I'm gonna do I'm gonna sing and swing and spin until I die Going up the mountain with an ever-ready heart  it looks much different than it did on the way down lookin for a sign of you and let me tell you when I do  I'll sing it in the cities and the towns who's going to love me today? who's going to call me their own? who's going take me as I am? who's going to take me home? yeah, whos going to take me home? who's going to call me their own? who's going take me as I am? who's going to take me home?

Grandma 02:18
Grandma, tell me 'bout the days before TV, Back before the internet and polio vaccines. Was it hard to be famous and so easy to be clean? Grandma, tell me all about back then. Grandma, was the living hard from hand to mouth? Make me up a list of all you had to do without. Tucked away so cozy from the clamor and the shouts, Those were golden days without a doubt. There goes the ice-wagon rolling down the street. Put something cool under your tongue. And here comes the coalman so your house can have some heat. Grandma, tell me all about you young. Grandma, well, I'm afraid that I just might explode. I get so tired of doing all the things that I get told, And the boys are so mean and the girls are so cold. Grandma, what happened to my soul?

Outposts 04:58
These bodies belong in a tangle of sense an angle of shame a whiff of innocence I kissed you at dawn you kissed me right back and we waited for the sun to show   you made a bad joke, sounded just like my dad but looked like a kid in a big winter hat and waited impatient for traffic to pass said goodbye and stepped into the road   what answers are found in the roads we go down? what secrets do latitudes hold? no matter how tightly i hold on to you we're all at these outposts alone   my deal came undone my roots came all up with connections asunder and friends far away you wrote me a letter i didn't write back i was too full of something to say   yesterdays prayers sit in this mornings trees they squabble like crows that won't ever know peace until suddenly risen as one they are gone lifted like a black cloud to the sky   what answers are found in the roads we go down? what secrets do latitudes hold? no matter how tightly I hold onto you we're all at these outposts alone   Hallelujah I sing Hallelujah I bring Words are so hard to say and so easy to mean   inclement mix on an off beaten path i kissed you at dawn but you pulled away and its really alright and its rarely ok fix your eyes up ahead and move on   what answers are found in the roads we go down? what secrets do latitudes hold? no matter how tightly I hold onto you we're all at these outposts alone

Chains 03:45
Take these chains from off my neck that keep me from being free throw em down into a hole or throw em out into the sea Take these chains from off my neck melt em down into something good something shiny set down in the middle of the neighborhood And people driving by will stop and wonder what it is and I'll say it is a monument to you and what you did Take these chains Take these chains from off my neck that keep me so far from you take my mind and body back and make em something you can use Let me be a piece of light or just a particle of air let me be a cup of something cool for somebody somewhere I'm not old I'm not young I been down but I'm not done I believe, I don't know why Only you can make me shine I remember when I was young and I felt you in my sweat I never knew despair and I lived without regret Now I'm driving down the road and I got mean things on my mind and I want to get them done, I got bucketfulls of time I want to get so gone that i cannot feel a thing and I want to get so close to someone who wants the same thing I am skin I am bones I am lovely I'm alone Take these chains from off of me Only you can make me free

Nemo Incognito On the waves of the sky and the sea All the way from London Nemo came Riding his invisible sea-plane
All around the world is where he goes
He hides all of his weapons in his clothes Nemo knows the fishes and the birds
He's learned all of their customs and their words
He rides a great big turtle through the sea
Striking into fear his enemies And he rides, yes he rides
Through the seas and the skies
And he rises over a hurt and hungry world I saw him one time in a pastry shop. He called me "Chief," I let my danish drop He's everything that I would want to be He shines like sunlight when it hits the sea

Movie Song 05:04
I went out to the movie I got lost on my way down Oh so dark at the movie I don't want to be found See the hard-bitten hero In the West out on his own Ridin' with the sun in his eyes I don't want to go home Hey that's me up there Yeah that's me up there Shining I got lost in your eyes Waiting for you to call I forget what they shine like No, I can't say at all But they call me out When they look at me Oh, so dark at the movie I just want to be free Cause that's me up there Yeah that's me up there Shining Now I'm sinking in my seat Just beneath that beam of light That's my dim blue Damascus I just want to be right Cause that's me up there Yeah that's me up there Shining

Naomi 03:47
Oh, Naomi. Won't you go and seek the lost ones? Oh, Naomi. Waiting days for just a taste of you. Oh, Naomi. We only see what's empty and invisible. Oh, Naomi. Find us all and bring us back with you. Oh, Naomi. The world is black and open like a golden throat. Oh, Naomi. We only see the world is small and blue. We all will dance in the honey-suckle vine. We'll drink you in like a cool, clear wine. Oh, Naomi. We want to pour our selves into the rifts and seams, the rifts and seams. Oh, Naomi. We want to rise and vanish like dew, Waiting days for just a taste of you. We all will dance in the honey-suckle vine. We'll drink you in like a cool, clear wine. We all will dance in the honey-suckle vine. We'll drink you in like a cool, clear wine.
